My Medium friends can read this story over there as well.
I have fallen out of the habit of writing frequently.
It was my original intention, writing a post every other, or every third day, while starting out on my own WordPress blog, Medium or Substack.
I will not blame any external circumstances. It is all up to me to meet up everyday to keep the writing habit alive.
The time is available, even if it is only for 5 minutes at a time during a busy day.
The same goes for Mark Thompson, writing and publishing on a very frequent basis.
Recently I read an excellent post by him about sitting down and just write for 7 days in a row.
Skipping the frameworks, the keywords research, the niche questions, the worry about likes, reads, engagement numbers and where to publish and more.
I am taking up his challenge and will write and publish for 7 days in a row.
Not necessary very long posts, even just 250 to 300 words, that are of some value, not focusing on any planning other than write, getting back into the habit.
This post is the first one in a series of 7 posts during 7 days to get back into the habit of writing again.
A question at the end here which everyone should take a little bit of time to reflect on;
Why are you here on Substack?
For me the answer is to write and publish something of value, to whom might read it, from something I have read, learned or experienced.
What I want to achieve is becoming a bit better at writing ever day.
Just like in martial arts, becoming a bit better at one technique, in one kata, during one day.
My intention is to write. I like to read and I like to write. I like to share what I learn through what I read and experience.
I am not chasing any shiny object anymore, just practicing the art of writing, being in the moment.
Are you up for the same challenge, just write and publish 1 post for 7 days straight?
Let me know in the comments.
